July 2000
In 1999, after a years hiatus from recording and performing,
Burke returned to composition by completing a track for the
Klanggalerie CD 'Thirteen' entitled 'Ehnanced X-S Artifact.'
This was his first composition utilizing a computer as the
primary compositional medium. As source material for this
track, Burke utilized a live recordings from a performance
in Vienna during a 1997 tour of Europe with Mark Klein. This
track represents a new form for IOS; capitalizing on mistakes,
errors and recording anomalies. This track was the featured
recording on Immaterial
Incorporated - web sound art projects website for July
2000. Burke returned to the Bay Area at the end of the month
for performances at 7hz and KFJC with Tom
Dimuzio. Burke also performed for the first time in Seattle

patron at the bar who was not adequately prepared for the
aural holocaust.
June 2000
Burke returned to performing as IOS in a solo context in April
2000, with performances at the Nervous Center in Chicago,
opening for Big City Orchestra at their first-ever Chicago

Spy on the West and East coasts.
